Cameron came into the dorm hall and then went to his room. He wondered who he was rooming with. He had already dropped off his bags at the room but he had gone out to look around. He had also gone to get a dog. The dog, who's named Freedom, was following the scrawny 14 year old.
He moved them to the bed right by the window. The window overlooked the pastures, so when he woke up, he could look at the horses. He took out the dog bed and put it by his bed, as well as the food bowls. He put the food in a drawer of his bedside table.
He then started to unpack his clothes...

Zach Mondragon came into the room. "Hey roomie." His face looked a lot like his twin sister Lassy. "Your Cameron arent you? You have my sisters binder." He said in a friendly voice. He looked at the dog. "Hey boy! Come here!" Zach looked up at Cameron waiting for his reply.

Cameron jumped as Zach spoke his first few words. "Yes I am Cameron. Oh yeah, I found a binder at the pet store." he said before getting up and went to where he had put the binder. "Here it is" He said handing Zach the binder. Freedom went and hid in his dog bed, frightened"

Zach smiled "Thanks dude." He flipped through Lassy's binder and saw her notes and the book she just finished. Lassy loved to write books and this one was a good long one. "So how do you know my sister?" He asked climbing onto a bed and laying there.

"She named my dog" He said quietly, going over to where the puppy was. When he got there he picked up the puppy and sat on his bed, stroking the puppy's soft head.
"She was at the adoption center and she got the sibling of this boy" He said before adding "Do you ride western or english?" He had to find out if there were more people at the school who rode western, ror if it was just him.

Zach smiled once again. "Yes, I ride western. Its the only thing I can ride. English makes me forget things and I cant use the horn to help me with ropin' cattle." He smiled. "So Lassy named yer dog eh? Whats his name?" He asked. He wanted to get to know this fellow, just incase Lassy liked him. She probably did, although he never knew why she liked boys that were Zachs roomates.

"I ride western as well. I've never tried English, but I don't want to either." Cam said. He was starting to get more comfortable with the guy. "This is Freedom. He's a little shy, but he likes attention."

Zach nodded. He now knew why Lassy liked him. For one, he had good looks and he was a western rider. Lassy always liked western riders. And, he asked her to name his dog. "Beautiful name. Latilitie always thinks of the best names." He smiled and put his large duffle bag on the bed.

"Yeah. I'm glad she thought of it. What horse are you riding" he asked. He wanted to get back to the riding. Yeah, Lassy named his dog and this was her brother, but he still wasn't going to stay on stuff about people.

"Midnight Snow. How about you?" Zach asked, taken aback about how quickly Cameron wanted to get off the subject. Well, I know he don' like her. He thaught to himself.

"I'm riding Egyptian Wind. Midnight Snow is a good horse. I rode The Joker last year." Cam said smiling remembering the black gelding from last year.
It wasn't that he didn't like Lassy. He actually thought she was nice, but he knew he didn't have a chance with his shyness and he was a little uncomfortable talking about these things with people he had never really met before.

Zach smiled. He looked at his watch and shrugged. "Hey, yeh wanna come with me to the movies? Im meetin' Lassy there. Yeh wanna come?" His voice was normal again and his eyes looked to Cameron. "Its alrigh' if yeh don' wanna." He said reasuring Cammeron if he was nervous.

"I think I'll stay here. I still got some unpacking to to and I am thinking of going to see my horse after that, and I don't want to leave Freedom around for too long" He said looking at his roommate

Someone knocked on the door and Zach went to answer it. It was Lassy. She walked in and dug right through Zach's clothes and got his black hoodie. She took it out and shook it a couple times and put it on.
Zach shrugged and chuckled about how oblivious Lassy was to Cammeron. Zach looked at the open door and was about to close it when Saphire walked in. Zach looked at the dog and smiled. "Your bringing your dog to the movies?" Zach asked his sister.
Lassy looked up at him after finished brushing off the hoodie. She smiled and nodded. Saphire wandered around the room and found her brother, Freedom. Saphires tail started wagging and she went into a playfull position watching Freedom with a spark in her eyes. Lassy looked around and saw Freedom and Saphire. She looked up slowly and saw Cammeron. Her eyes went soft and sad. She looked to Zach and quietly said, "Im ready." She closed her eyes and one small stray tear ran down her cheek.
Lassy called saphire and walked out the door, not even waiting for Zach. Zach looked from Lassy to Cammeron. "Well, don' know wha' thas all abou'. See yeh later. Unless yeh changed yer min' then See yeh." He said and grabbed his light coat and walked out the door.
