Lassy came out trotting in the outdoor arena. She liked the movement of Winter and she moved her into a lope, then trot, then walk. "Alright girl, your all warmed up. Now lets see those jumps." She said to the grey while rubbing her neck.
Saphire was at the gate looking in. Lassy had told her to stay and being a good dog she did. Lassy had been training Saphire ever since she got her and she was doing tremedous work. So Saphire just sat there waging her tail.
Lassy looked over to Saphire and smiled. "Good dog" She said to herself. She looked at the jumps ahead of her and she started the grey out at a trot. At the first jump the grey did perfectly, but when she saw the second jump she came into a lope then a full blown gallop. Lassy pulled on the reins but they didnt seem to do much. The grey flew over the next few jumps when Lassy finaly steered her out of a jump and then the grey slowed down. Lassy was breathing hard and so was the mare. "Hehe, well now I know what to work on." She smiled and braught out a sugar cookie from her coat pocket. The mare turned her head and grabbed the cookie from her. Lassy laughed while the grey munched on her cookie.

Sarah shortened her reins at the sight of another, she didn't know how well Dark was around others but he seemed to be interested in the mare. Auds perked at sight of the grey. Sarah pushed him into a walk and smiled, riding past the pair and the puppy. Bullet, or Boo as Sarah called him was in the dorm, sleeping. He was very playful but not behaved enough to be tooken out with the horses. Dark snorted, auds flicking as he turned his cranium as if checking the grey out. Sarah rolled her eyes and walked him around in a walk. The stallion took long and powerful strides, often bouncing in a collected trot. Sarah sat deep, heels down and reins short. Hands gripping the leather inbetween her fingers. She rode the bay in circles, figures of eights and serpintines, warming up his muscles in walk before even thinking about a trot. She wanted to waste as much energy as possible since he was a speedy ride. And as for his behaviour over the jumps, she'd soon have to sort that out.

Lassy watched the new girl for a little bit and waved. She patted Winters neck. "Good girl." She smiled. She gave winter another cookie and Winter munched on it happily. Lassy clicked to Winter and they started at a trot. Lassy's movement with winter looked like they were one being. They went over the first jump in one movement. Lassy pulled on the reins tightly and Winter stayed in a trot. They went over the next jump kinda choppy. Winter wanted to go faster and Lassy could feel it.
She took winter around the pin a couple times for a warm down. She smiled at the small progress that Winter and her were making. She got down and lead the grey around the pin once more. She smiled and gave Winter one more cookie.
Lassy wistled and saphire came over. Saphire sniffed the grey and Winter looked at the dog like a foal. Winter nuzzled Saphire and Lassy laughed. They walked together stride for pawstep and pawstep for hoof. They walked to the gate and Lassy went and put Winter away.
Lassy came back with Saphire at her heels to watch the new girl.

The bay stallion watched curiously as the grey and girl jumped. He seemed more interested in them than the task set ahead. Sarah clicked her tongue and pushed him on with her heels, he took the aid and burst into a trot. His strides were short and bouncy, like he was holding his energy in for something else. Sarah gripped the leather reins tightly and wrose up and down to the beat of Dark's fast trot. Soon catching his pace and moving with him. He seemed pretty excited. Sarah rode him at large around the arena, riding a few circles and figures of eight in trot. He was loosening up slightly but was still very forward and eager. At the corner, Dark lunged forwards into a canter after Sarah's quick aid. His canter was amazing, Sarah could feel every muscle and tendon work underneath his dark bay pelt. He was trully magnificent and although he played up and what from Sarah had heard about him, he seemed to be working pretty well.
Sarah rode across the school, changing the rein with a flying lead change. Dark popped a little extra leap in but remained on the correct lead. Sarah was used to riding without a whip, she was the type who got through to horses with natural aids. Dark eyed the jump Sarah was riding him towards, he slowed down, almost returning to a trot. "Oh dear." Mumbled Sarah as Dark moved to the side to avoid the jump. "Enough of that!" She scolded with her tongue turning him in a circle and cantering him around the arena to get him in a good pace.
She gathered her reins as they turned towards the jump, Dark slowed again. Sarah took up her reins and gave Dark a good squeeze. "C'mon boy, you can do it. Lets show 'em." Encouraged Sarah. She wasn't meaning it towards anyone but often words like that helped build up the confidence of the mount. Although Dark didn't pick up speed, he didn't slow either and popped over the 2ft jump. He landed slightly heavy but it was something they could improve. "Good boy, Dark!" Praised Sarah slowing him to a walk and rubbing his neck affectionately. Dark sighed, some-what amused and pleased with his reward. "Jus' a few more times and we can finish up." Explained Sarah pushing him into a trot once more and riding him at large around the track, this time she was eyeing a 2'3" in the center of the arena that she could ride a good run-up and take off with.
She pushed him into a canter and once again rode around the arena, heading towards the red and white coloured jump. She briefly judged the stride and within a stride before take off, gave Dark a good squeeze with her heels, leaning forward and clicking her tongue. Dark took the signal and jumped better, landing lightly but still slowly. Sarah slowed him to a halt and patted his shoulder. "What a good lad you are." She cooed with a smile, that was enough for one day. Maybe a few lessons and lunge sessions would help with his speed. She gave him a long rein and let him stretch at a walk around the arena a few times before halting and swiftly dismounting. Running up his stirrups and loosening off his girth. "Good boy." She whispered giving him a kiss on the cheek bone and holding out a mint. Dark contently lipped up the polo and crunched at it happily.
